The Cave [EARLY DEMO] Mac OS

Most of the other ports here are built using the original source code from Pixel, but NXEngine ports are built from a fork of the NXEngine source core, at any stage of NXEngine's development. Of Love and Eternity has been a work of passion of mine for the past few years. It started as a feeling, then became a story, and now this game. While merely a short demo as of now, I hope that it conveys enough of my vision to capture people's imagination. This demo serves as an alpha stage or vertical slice of the game's systems.

• Minecraft Marketplace Discover new ways to play Minecraft with unique maps, skins, and texture packs. Available in-game from your favorite community creators. Purchases and Minecoins roam across Windows 10, Xbox One, Mobile, and Switch.
• Crystal Cave Adventure is a text-based game transcoded to C from an anonymously created game years before 1988. This version works on all Mac OS versions and features a points score system. Earthly Delights.

Note on NXEngine: NXEngine is an open source reproduction of the Cave Story engine. Chances are that the differences will be unnoticeable or really minor to most, but it is worth keeping in mind.

Note on NXEngine-evo: NXEngine-evo is a fork of NXEngine whose primary feature is widescreen support.

Note on CSE2: CSE2 is another open source reproduction of the Cave Story engine, except it is designed for accuracy and faithfulness to the original. Sadly, it was subject to a DMCA takedown.

Paradox: A Rusty Lake Film will be released together with the accompanying game: Cube Escape: Paradox. In this unique crossover you follow detective Dale Vandermeer who needs to escape the room in parallel universes. Both game and the short film will be connected in various ways: find secret symbols, unlock multiple endings and above all experience the same room in different ways.

Controls:

Click on the arrows and drag to navigate around the environment. Some objects you can drag. Interact with people and objects by clicking. Select found items in your inventory and click somewhere on screen to use them.

Extra info:

For all players who experience a small glitch, please try the Reset level option in settings first. If you experience any trouble you can try again. If the reset doesn't work, let us know (by email: info@rustylake.com) so we can fix the glitch in the update!

If you buy chapter 2, please install the new package en play from that build.
The save game is filed in your Documents so it will remain the same. However, if we release an update please make a back-up of your save data before updating to a new version.
- Windows users: hit the .exe file to install the game.
- Mac users: if you get the error App is Broken, please check the Read Me file.

Great game in a series of them !! An exciting mix of surreal puzzle solving and exciting logic chains that perfectly pace play. I feel like it's one of the best puzzle games for establishing and maintaining an internal logic that's just as entertaining to learn as it is to succeed at. I do have a small question: I purchased yesterday (itch says one day ago so that might count as longer) for $2.00 USD, and the page says that for paying over $1.49 USD I should have chapter two, but it isn't available in my downloads. Am I missing something?

Hey, just checking if there's anything going on with the Windows file? I tried launching and it just sticks there blinking rapidly on what I guess is the intro screen where Rusty Lake types out over the landscape. I can't get past that into the actual game. Reinstalling didn't help. Am I missing something?

Absolutely brilliant, as usual! I've played all the Rusty Lake/Cube Escape games, and bought every premium game thus far. I'm fascinated with the saga of the Vanderboom and Eilander families. Truly excellent storyline and gameplay that keeps you thinking.
